Tharuni is proud to announce that even now the results of her services are yielding fruits in the villages. The girls groups are actively participating to solve their problems . They are stopping Child Marriages. They are also trying to improve the infrastructure facilities in their schools requesting the local authorities. They conduct Meetings of elders men and women, Anganwadi and Asha workers to help them to stop the prenatal  diagnostic tests to eliminate girl children. The social issue of drinking arrack, in the villages is one of their agenda to discuss and  try to ban it  in the village is really a great change brought by Tharuni..
Tharuni and its well wishers wholeheartedly congratulate Dr. Mamatha for her services to the children.,and people in the rural and tribal areas.

International Women's Day celebrations by Tharuni on 8th March 2014

Tharuni Team celebrated the 'International women's Day at Doollapally Forest Academy Hyderabad, in collaboration with the seventy five  Women Forest Officer Trainees.The Trainee Officers spoke on the role of Women Officers in the Forest Department.They explained about the need of support from the Higher Officials,colleagues and also the community,for the smooth functioning of their Department.Dr. Hemalatha and Dr. Mamatha of Tharuni Organisation, while congratulating the Officers who took a bold step to join the Male Bastion, should be brave enough to face all kinds of situations, to serve the Forests, belonging to Mother Earth, and the beautiful nature and environment.
Tharuni got the News Letter a special issue on PCPNDT Act  to save the Girl child,  released by Sri P. Raghuveer, Director Forest Academy.on the occasion. Dr. Hemalatha thanked the Forest Academy Officials, for participating in the Event.

Collective Enterprise Management Training for VTDC Members of Cheryala &Pembarthi

Tharuni. conducted Collective Enterprise Management for the Village Tourism Development Committee Members and Artisans of Rural Tourism Projects of Cheryala and Pembarthi on 8th and 9th March 2014 at A.P. Forest Academy, Dullapally, Near Kompally, Hyderabad..
Dr. P. Hemalatha Devi ,Director Tharuni, presiding over the Training Programme, explained about the role of Tharuni, in the development of Rural Tourism Project in both the villages, for the last two years.Dr. Mamatha , Member, Advisory Board Tharuni, got the Participant Artisans introduced themselves about their handicrafts,and their Arts and then involved them into the objectives of this Training Programme. Sri P. Raghuveer, Chief Guest for the session  and  Director Forest Academy,stated about the importance of the skills necessary to market their products. Sri  Anil, Consultant, Tourism, explained the scenario of Rural Enterprises in India. A video Film was shown to learn how to make the enterprise more attractive to the Tourists.
After Lunch break at 2 P.M The Artisans visited the Rural Technologies Park, NIRD, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, followed by City tour.
On 9th, Sunday , the following Resource Persons enlightened the Artisans on different skills--:

New Executive Director of Tharuni Non Governmental Organisation

Dr. Mamatha Raghuveer, Executive Director Tharuni Organisation joined as Member, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights,Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. So she has resigned her post as Executive Director, Tharuni.
Dr. P.Hemalatha Devi has taken charge as Executive Director, Tharuni with immediate effect.She appealed to all the Public and the well wishers of Tharuni to cooperate and support Tharuni in achieving its endeavors.
