Nutrition Week celebrations closure workshop21st September 2010

The Nutrition Week Celebrations Closure work Shop was held on 21st September 2010 at Warangal, to review the successful conduct of awareness program for the parents in feeding their children, in the district.Regional Dy. Director Abdhi Chandrika presided over the workshop.Shivalker Reddy, Coordinator of CARE Project and the Six NGOs who have coordinated the Programme with the help of the Women Welfare and Child Development Department participated the Work shop, along with CDPOs, and Supervisors.The Monitoring visits' observations were discussed in the workshop. The circulation of feeding bowls to all Anganwadi workers could create awareness among the Mothers.Tharuni conducted best mothers competitions, which was successful in creating awareness among them. Tharuni submitted its Report along with recommendations to improve the nutritonal levels of the children.

Nutrition Week celebrations

Tharuni in collaboration with CARE and Women Welfare Department of Government of A.P. initiated Nutrition Week Celebrations from 1st September 2010. Launching of the campaign was held for the 170 CDPOs of the District of Warangal. Dhanwanthi Chair Person of Zilla Parishad was the Chief Guest of the function M.L.A. Dr. Rajayya, Dr. Mamatha Tharuni Director, P.D of I.C.D.S. Ramulu ., UNICEF Dt. Manager Rajasekhar, Women welfare Department Officials, Tharuni Coordinators and CDPOs attended the Program. The CDPOS will conduct Project wise training of the Anganwadi Workers in all Mandal Head Quarters, who will in turn train the women in the villages. Each Anganwadi Worker is given a cup and spoon to measure the feeding of the baby.Pamphlets were released to create awareness of Anganwadi worker about nutrition.
They will conduct competitions in the Centers for Mothers on complementary food. Best Mothers will be given certificates.

Tharuni before Sri Krishna Committee on 1st september 2010

Tharuni Director Dr. Mamatha Raghuveer was asked to submit her representation before the Sri Krishna Committee on 1st September 2010 at Station Ghanpur about the issues of women in this region. The day being Krishnashtami, Dr Mamatha requested Justice Sri Krishna to do justice to the women in the region by including a separate package in his Report for the development of the women, who are a neglected lot for a long time. The Judge assured to do his best, as Lord Krishna showed dharma in Bhagavadgita.

Dr. Mamatha enrolled as an Advocate
