Children's Day celebrations at Tharuni Gurukul,16-11-2014

Children's Day Celebrations were held at Tharuni Gurukul, in the premises of Branch Library, Champapet on 16th November.Children from different schools, Govt. and Private, participated in the Drawing, Music, Essay writing,and Games Competitions. They were given Prizes for the winners. Smt. Indira Dhansingh was the Chief Guest for the Meeting.She expressed her happiness, for the Gurukul  had  changed the lives of hundreds of underprivileged and privileged children on equal footing, to improve their creativity and talents within the resources available to them.She praised 'Tharuni.org' for the sincere services done to children.

Dr. Hemalatha devi ,Director and Coordinator of the Gurukul, expressed her gratitude to the Hyderabad City Library Authorities for enabling the community activities in the premises of the Branch Library, Champapet to conduct a Tailoring Center for Women, and extra curricular activities to the children from 2004 to the present.She thanked the present  Librarian Sri  Krishna Reddy and former Librarian Smt. Indira Devi and their Staff Members Sumitra and Vijaya Lakshmi, and the Staff Members of the Gurukul.
Sri Imdad Music Teacher, Smt Nirmala Tailoring Teacher, Ms. Gita, Priyanka,Gutta Ramana , Yaswanth, conducted the competitions and distributed Sweets to Children.

Workshop and Rally on 'Low sex ratio of Girl child' by Tharuni &Action Aid on 07-11-2014

THARUNI  and ACTION AID Organisations jointly conducted a Work Shop on the 'Low Sex Ratio of the Girl Child' at Narsampet, in Warangal District, on 07-11-2014.
Before conducting the Workshop, a Rally was flagged by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Sr. Bhaskar Rao, in which more than 200 students led by NSS Coordinator Ashok, and Child line staff and local people and other officials participated, with placards showing the importance of girl child in the society.
The Meeting was presided by the Principal G. Prabhakar Reddy of Siddhartha Degree and P.G. College, Narsampet, where in the daylong workshop was held.Ms. Anuradha, ACTION AID Coordinator, Hyderabad,  got the Audio and Video films on girl child exhibited.The PCPNDT Act was explained.
Sri Chakravarthy, D.S.P.,DR. Venkat Ramana SPHO, John Diwakar, C.I. of Police, Child line Staff Member Prabhakar and others spoke on the importance of Girl Child and how to save her.
Tharuni Coordinator Ailesh Yadav , distributed Tharuni News letters and pamphlets, explaining 'NOGIRL-NOWORLD'.He also mentioned deep gratitude and Vote of Thanks to the Officers, Local People and Students for enabling to conduct the event successfully.

Children's Day Celebrations-importance (A write up in Telugu)

ప్రతి సంవత్సరం బాలల దినోత్సవం ఎంతో ఆర్భాటంగా,నవంబరు 14న ,చాచా నెహ్రు జయంతి సందర్భంగా, జరుపుకుంటున్న మన దేశంలో ,బాలలపై ఇంటా బయటా ,పాటశాలలో జరుపుతున్న శారీరక మానసిక హింస , ఇతర నేరాలు గమనిస్తే ,బాలల పండుగకు అర్థమే లేదని అనిపిస్తోంది నోరు లేని పసివారిపై 3 సంవత్సరాలు ,5,6 సంవత్సరాలు అని కుడా చూడకుండా ,జరుపుతున్న అత్యాచారాలు చూస్తుంటే , మృగాలకంటే హీనమైన మానదా  మన మానవ జాతి అని అనిపిస్తుంద. 

ప్రతి స్కూలులో బాలల దినోత్సవం ఒక పండుగగా చేస్తారు. కాని బయటకు చెప్పలేని మానసిక ,శారీరక హింసని అనుభవిస్తున్నారు బాలబాలికలు. ఆయా సంఘటనల గూర్చి విన్నప్పుడు ,మీడియా లో చూసినప్పుడు పాఠ్ శాలల్లో కూడా పిల్లలకు రక్షణ లేదుకదా అని ఎంతో బాధగా ఉంటోంది టీచర్ కీచకుడుగా మారడానికి గల కారణాలేమిటి?గురువు అంటే చీకటిని తొలగించేవాడు జ్ఞానబొధ చేసి దిశా నిర్దేశం చేయాలిగాని ,మానవీయ విలువలను మట్టిలో కలుపుతున్నారెందుకు ? అని అనిపిస్తుంది 

దాదాపు 40 సంవత్సరాలు టీచర్ గాను ,కాలేజిలో ప్రొఫెసర్ గాను పనిచేసి అనుభవం గడించిన నేను ,ఈనాటి టీచర్లు స్కూళ్ళలో విద్యార్థులకు ,సరిఅయిన శిక్షణ నివ్వగలిగే సమయం వారికి దొరకడం లేదేమో అనుకోవలసి వస్తోంది పిల్లలు పెడదారులు పట్టకుండా, విద్యాబుద్ధులు చెప్పలేక పోవడానికి కారణాలు పరిశీలిస్తే, అనంతమైన పాట్యాఅంశాలు ,పని దినాలు తక్కువ కావడం ,సమయా భావంతో పాటు , సగం మంది టీచర్లుగా శిక్షణ పొందకపోవడం , వారు చదివింది ఒకటి, చెప్పేది మరి ఒకటి. వీటి అన్నిటితో పాటు ప్రభుత్వ కార్య కలాపాలలో , ఎన్నికలప్పుడు టీచర్ల చేత పని చేయించుతారు. పైగా ఉన్న 170/180 పని దినాలలో , సిలబస్ పూర్తి చేయాలనే చూస్తారు. ప్రభుత్వ పాట శాలల్లో ఒకొక్క తరగతిలో 70, 80 పైనే ఉన్న బాల బాలికలకు సరిఅయిన క్లాస్ రూం వసతులు, ఫర్నిచర్ ఏమి ఉండవు. దానితో పాటాలు చెప్పవలసిన గురువులకు , విద్యార్థులకు మధ్య సరి అయిన అవగాహన ఉండదు పిల్లలకు బుద్దులు చెప్పే సమయం ఉండదు. అందువలన పిల్లలను క్రమ శిక్షణ పేరుతో శారీరక మానసిక హింసకు గురి చేస్తారు పట్టణాలలో దూరా భారంతో ,టీచర్లు, విద్యార్థులు కూడా రవాణా సౌకర్యాలు లేక ఇబ్బంది పడుతూ ఉంటారు ఇన్నిరకాలైన వత్తిడుల మధ్య టీచర్లు పిల్లల్ని అధికంగా శిక్షించడం , విచక్షణ కోల్పోయి హింసించడం ,ప్రిన్సిపాల్ గదికి పంపి దండింప చేయడం జరుగుతుంది.

ఇంక పిల్లల తల్లి తండ్రుల విషయానికి వస్తే వారు తమ ఉద్యోగాలు , పనులు, ఇంటి వ్యవహారాలు చక్క పెట్టుకోవడానికి ,పిల్లల్ని ఎంత త్వరగా స్కూలుకి పంపించేస్తే ,తమ బాధ్యత వదిలి పోతుందని భావిస్థారు. పేరెంట్స్ మీటింగులకి వెళ్ళడానికి, వాళ్లకి టైము లెదు.పిల్లలు అల్లరి చేస్తున్నారు ,సరిగ్గా చదవటం లేదని ,టీచర్లు స్కూలు డైరీ లో వ్రాస్తే , మీరే పిల్లల్ని కొట్టి, హింసించి అయినా దారిలో పెట్టమని చెప్తారు. చదువుకోని తల్లి తండ్రులైతే అసలే పట్టించుకోరు ,సరికదా స్కూలు మానిపించి పొలం పనులు , ఇంట్లో చిన్న పిల్లలను చూడటం లాంటివి చేయించుకుని చదువంటే నిర్లక్ష్యం చేసేలా చూస్తారు. 

మరి బాల బాలికల గోడు వినేదెవరు?బాల్యం నుండే ఎంతో విచక్షణకు ,నిర్లక్ష్యానికి గురి అవుతున్న బాల బాలికలెందరో. రెండున్నర ఏళ్ళ పసివాళ్ళని ప్రిస్కూలు లో వేయడం ప్రారంభిస్తారు. ఊహ తెలియని చిన్నారి స్కూలులో నీళ్ళ సంపులో పది మరణించాడు. మూడేళ్ళ పసి కూనని బెంగలూరులో అత్యాచారం చేసాడు టీచర్ అనే నరరూప రాక్షసుడు. ఆడపిల్లల్ని సరిగ్గా చదవటం లేదని తిట్టి, మానసిక క్షోభ పెట్టి , వాళ్ళు ఏడిస్తే, లాలిస్తున్నట్లు చేస్తూ వళ్ళంత తడుముతూ వెకిలి చేష్టలు చేసే మగ టీచర్లు మరి కొందరు. ఇంట్లో పెనిమిటితో కయ్యమాడి  వచ్చిన లేడీ  టీచర్ ,క్లాసులోని 40మంది పిల్లల్ని గొడ్డును బాదినట్లు బాధించింది. అల్లరి చేసాడని ,పిల్లాడి బట్టలిప్పి , అందరికి కనపడేలా నిలబెట్టి హింసిస్తుంటే, ఎవరో మొబైల్ ఫిలిం తీసి మీడియాకి తెలిపారు. గుడ్డివారైన బాలల్ని, విచక్షణా రహితంగా ,తను అంధుడై ఉండి ప్రిన్సిపాలు హింసించిన ఘటన మరువలెము. ట్యూ టర్ని పెడితే మూడు సంవత్సరాల పసివాడిని బాదేసింది, ఓర్పులేని ఒక టీచర్. ఇలా చెప్పుకుంటూ పోతే, పిల్లల పైన జరుగుతున్న శారీరక,మానసిక హింసలకు అంతే లెదు. 

తరగతి గదిలో టీచర్లు కేన్ తో కొట్టడం ,అరవడం ,ఎండలో నిలబెట్టడం, వేలకోలంగా ,హీన పరుస్తూ మాట్లాడడం , నీకు చదువే రాదనీ, వెనుక బెంచికి మార్చడం ఇవన్ని పిల్లల మంచికోసం చేస్తున్నామని చెప్పే కొందరు టీచర్లు అనబడే కిరాతకుల ప్రతికూల  ధోరణి.ఇటువంటి పరిస్థితులలో బాలల మానసిక ధోరణి కూడా వికృత రూపం దాల్చి , వాళ్ళు స్కూలు మానేయడమో ,అల్లరి చిల్లరిగా తిరగడమో, అక్రమ రవాణాకి లోబడడం ,ఇంట్లోంచి పారిపోవడం, బాల కార్మికులుగా మారడం జరుగుతున్నది. ఇవేనా మనం భావి భారతావనికి ఇచ్చే బహుమానం?

రాజకీయాలకి, ఎన్నికలకి, సంక్షేమ పథకాలకి కోట్లాది రూపాయిలు ఖర్చు పెడుతున్న మన ప్రభుత్వాలు ,కార్పొరేట్ దిగ్గజాలు,  స్వచ్చంద సంస్థలు, స్కూళ్లలోని తరగతి గదులు ,వ్వ్యాయామ శాలలు, టాయ్లెట్లు ,ఫర్నిచరు ,లైబ్రరీలు ఉన్నాయా లేవా అని గమనించరు. ఉన్న వారి పిల్లలకు ఒకరకమైన పాట శాలలు, లేనివారికి మరొక రకం . బాల్యంలోనే విచక్షణ వెళ్లునికుని పోయింది. ప్రతి మనిషికి బాల్యం ఒక వరం. చిన్న నాటి జ్ఞాప కాలే , అనుభవాలే , వారి భవిష్యత్తుని తీర్చి దిద్దుతాయి అన్నది పరమ సత్యమ్. . 

నా చిన్న తనంలో 3వ తరగతి చదువుతున్నపుడు క్లాసులో క్రమ శిక్షణకు ,అందరి తలల పైన వరుసగా ఒకొక్క దెబ్బ వేస్తున్న టీచర్ , నన్ను అనవసరంగా కొట్టిందని ఏడిచి స్కూలు మానేశాను. నాల్గవ రోజున ఆ టీచర్ ,నేను ఎందుకు స్కూలుకు రావటంలేదని, మా ఇంటికి వచ్చి , స్కూలుకు దగ్గరుండి తీసుకు వెళ్ళింది. 60 సంవత్సరాల ఆ సంఘటన ఈనాటికి, నాకు తీపి జ్ఞాపకం. 

నేను ఒక కాన్వెంట్ స్కూలులో టీచరుగా పని చేసినప్పుడు , నా క్లాసులో పిల్లలు ,ఫ్రీ గా ఉండి అల్లరి చేస్తున్నారు అని హెడ్ మిస్ట్రెస్ ,నన్ను మందలించడం, ఒక గుర్తుగా ఉండిపోయింది. అంతేకాదు ఒకటవ తేదీకల్లా నాలుగు క్లాసుల పరీక్ష పేపర్లు దిద్ది, మార్కులు ఇవ్వలేక పోయానని ,అవి ఇచ్చిన దాకా , జీతం ఇవ్వనని ఆమె చెప్పడం మరో జ్ఞాపకం. విశ్వ విద్యాలయం లోకూడా పేపర్ క్షుణంగా చూసి మార్కులు వేయడమే అలవాటైన నేను,అందరికన్నా ఆలస్యంగా ఇంటికి వెళ్ళేదాన్ని. 

కాలేజిలో పని చేస్తున్నపుడు నా విద్యార్ధి ,నా వ్యక్తిత్వాన్ని, ఒక అమ్మగా వర్ణించి రాసినపుడు , యువకులైన విద్యార్థులు నాయందు చూపిన గౌరవమ్,  అభి మానం , నేను మరువలేను. అంధులైన విద్యార్థులు ,నేను పాట్య అంశాలు ,క్యాసేట్లుగా రికార్డు చేసి ఇస్తే,హాస్టల్కి పట్టుకుని వెళ్లి విని,  పరీక్ష లు వ్రాసేవారు . ఆడపిల్లల కాలేజిలో ,విద్యార్థినులు ,  ఇప్పటికి , నేను రి టయిరయ్యి పది సంవత్సరాలైనా , నాకు ఫోను చేసి , వచ్చి కలసి ,సలహాలు అడిగి ,ఎంతో ఉన్నత స్థాయికి ఎదిగినా ,వాళ్ళు ,నన్ను ఆప్యాయతతో పలకరించడం ,నాకు పులకరింపు కలగా చేస్తుంది. ఇప్పటికి నా నమ్మకం మంచి టీచర్లు ఉన్నారు . మరింత మంచి విద్యార్థులు ఉన్నారు. వారే ఈ భారతావనిని తీర్చి దిద్దే భావి భారత పౌరులు . 

గురు శిష్య సంబంధం వెల  కట్ట లేనిది.మానవీయ విలువలకు పరాకాష్ట . దానిని బద్రంగా పరిరక్షించు కోడమే మనం జరిపే బాలల దినో త్సవ పండుగకి సార్ధకత.    

34th Tharuni News Letter in Telugu is released on line on 30th October 2014

Tharuni is very happy to inform that 34th Edition of Tharuni News Letter is released for Public Reading.  This News letter highlights the 'Sexual Harassment at Work Place against Women'. The Act No.14 of 2013,  was enacted and implemented from 9th December 2013, along with rules and regulations.
Earlier The Supreme Court had given guidelines in the Visakha VS State of Rajasthan in 1997, on this issue.
Now the Managements of any organisations/work Places wherever Women are working are supposed to take proper steps for a peaceful and safe environment for the working women, against any type of  sexual harassment.

Tharuni.org inaugurated 'Tharunopayam' -SMS Helpline on 11th October 2013, while celebrating International Girl Child Day, with the technical expertise of the Corporate Company 'Doers'Guild'.
More than 800  men and women  were given suitable solutions to their anonymous queries/doubts expressed to the Help Line by our  Experts on various legal,social, educational,health and other issues, during this year. Tharuni is appreciating the confidence the people got, while informing the secrets of life, which they could not express to their own kith and kin.They expressed full satisfaction with the advice given by the experts.It was like a chat with a friend, philosopher and guide advising,counselling and guiding with knowledge and experience.
Once again Tharuni is expecting to help and advise hundreds of depressed and needy children,men and women who repose confidence, to seek a right means of solving their problems, in no time.

Tharuni-Action Aid Sensitization Meetings at Cherial & Janagoan on child Sex Ratio

Tharuni conducted Sector meeting on 27th August, 2014 at Cherial (The famous Cherial Paintings Tourist Spot of Warangal District)Market Yard Hall for the hundred and fifty  Anganwadi workers,and concerned Supervisors of Nermetta, Bachchannapet and Cherial Mandals.Supervisors Tharela Begum,Sujatha,Kavitha,UmaDevi  have participated actively.

At Janagoan also the Sector Meeting was held on 18th September2014 at IKP Center, in which CDPO K.Aruna Devi, Supervisors Shobha,Aruna, Srilatha, Ramadevi, Padmalatha Sumathi participated along with two hundred Anganwadi Workers of Raghunathapalli, Lingalaghanpur,and Jangoan Mandals attending it.

Both the Meetings were conducted by Tharuni in collaboration with Action Aid. Tharuni Representative  Ailesh explained the Child Sex Ratio in Warangal District, and role of anganwadi workers at the grass root level. The PCPNDT Act was discussed at length, after distributing the Tharuni News letters , and Pamphlets. The participants could enlighten themselves about 'Save the Girl Child 'Project in detail. 

Tharuni-Action Aid-Sensitization Meeting on PC-PNDT Act, held on 08-07-2014 at Hyderabad

Tharuni in collaboration with Action Aid conducted Sensitization Meeting on PCPNDT Act at Kuttuvellodi Primary Health Center, Seethaphalmandi., on 8th July 2014 from 1.30 PM to 4 PM..It was attended by SPHO Dr. Sakkubai, along with seven Medical Officers.They could create awareness to 30 ANMs, And 10 Health workers on the issue of 'save the Girl Child'
Action Aid Coordinator enlightened the participants on the PCPNDT Act, with the present scenario of sex ratio, along with case studies.The Doctors were requested to cooperate in checking up the scanning centers in the area.
SPHO and Mandal Officer Dr. Sridhar gave their suggestions to improve the situation,and promised to cooperate with the NGOs to spread the message 'save the girl child, among the public.
Tharuni coordinator Ailesh Yadav distributed PCPNDT Act News Letters of Tharuni and IEC materials and posters among the participants. 

Girl Child Sex Ratio is low in the City of Hyderabad too.

Tharuni in collaboration with ACTION-AID made an initial survey of some of the areas in the heart of the City of Hyderabad, under the 'Child Sex Ratio Project". It is really surprising to note the following 5 Wards
sex ratio statistics are alarming.
1. Seethaphal mandi-----827 girls for 1000 boys.
2. .Ramnagar------------890 girls for 1000 boys
3. Adikmet--------------895 girls for 1000 boys
4. Vidyanagar-----------895 girls for 1000 boys
5. Nallakunta------------905 girls for 1000 boys

Tharuni initiated 'No Girl-No World' campaign in Hyderabad from January 2014 with 'Bikethon' Rally by young women and men. So it is high time that the Citizens of Hyderabad have to realize the importance of Girl child and spread the message that giving birth to a girl child is also a privilege and asset to the family.

Recently on 28th June Tharuni volunteers represented in the Anganwadi Workers Sector Meeting to enlighten them on PC-P N D T Act,and to stop prenatal diagnostics tests, aborting the girl children. Thirty Anganwadi workers and their Supervisor Smt. Hansaveni participated. Tharuni Coordinator Ailesh Yadav
distributed the Tharuni News Letter and pamphlets to spread the Message.

Congratulations-Girl Groups of Tharuni in Warangal District

Tharuni congratulates Sunitha a tribal girl passing Intermediate with 699  marks,  likes to pursue higher studies.  She is one of the members of Balika Sanghas.She along with her friends  is taking initiative to hold Meeting in the Komalla and Viswanadhapuram villages of Geesukonda Mandal in Warangal District on 8th May 2014 , inviting Anganwadi and Asha Volunteers ,local authorities and men and women to discuss and find solutions for the following social issues.She also is requesting to help the poor girl students to pursue their studies.

2.Prenatal Diagnostic Tests to save the girl child.
3.Child Labor.
4.Infrastructure in schools.
5.vocational training for Youth.
6.Village Library

Tharuni is proud to announce that even now the results of her services are yielding fruits in the villages. The girls groups are actively participating to solve their problems . They are stopping Child Marriages. They are also trying to improve the infrastructure facilities in their schools requesting the local authorities. They conduct Meetings of elders men and women, Anganwadi and Asha workers to help them to stop the prenatal  diagnostic tests to eliminate girl children. The social issue of drinking arrack, in the villages is one of their agenda to discuss and  try to ban it  in the village is really a great change brought by Tharuni..
Tharuni and its well wishers wholeheartedly congratulate Dr. Mamatha for her services to the children.,and people in the rural and tribal areas.

Tharuni Team celebrated the 'International women's Day at Doollapally Forest Academy Hyderabad, in collaboration with the seventy five  Women Forest Officer Trainees.The Trainee Officers spoke on the role of Women Officers in the Forest Department.They explained about the need of support from the Higher Officials,colleagues and also the community,for the smooth functioning of their Department.Dr. Hemalatha and Dr. Mamatha of Tharuni Organisation, while congratulating the Officers who took a bold step to join the Male Bastion, should be brave enough to face all kinds of situations, to serve the Forests, belonging to Mother Earth, and the beautiful nature and environment.
Tharuni got the News Letter a special issue on PCPNDT Act  to save the Girl child,  released by Sri P. Raghuveer, Director Forest Academy.on the occasion. Dr. Hemalatha thanked the Forest Academy Officials, for participating in the Event.

Collective Enterprise Management Training for VTDC Members of Cheryala &Pembarthi

Tharuni. conducted Collective Enterprise Management for the Village Tourism Development Committee Members and Artisans of Rural Tourism Projects of Cheryala and Pembarthi on 8th and 9th March 2014 at A.P. Forest Academy, Dullapally, Near Kompally, Hyderabad..
Dr. P. Hemalatha Devi ,Director Tharuni, presiding over the Training Programme, explained about the role of Tharuni, in the development of Rural Tourism Project in both the villages, for the last two years.Dr. Mamatha , Member, Advisory Board Tharuni, got the Participant Artisans introduced themselves about their handicrafts,and their Arts and then involved them into the objectives of this Training Programme. Sri P. Raghuveer, Chief Guest for the session  and  Director Forest Academy,stated about the importance of the skills necessary to market their products. Sri  Anil, Consultant, Tourism, explained the scenario of Rural Enterprises in India. A video Film was shown to learn how to make the enterprise more attractive to the Tourists.
After Lunch break at 2 P.M The Artisans visited the Rural Technologies Park, NIRD, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, followed by City tour.

Dr. Mamatha Raghuveer, Executive Director Tharuni Organisation joined as Member, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights,Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. So she has resigned her post as Executive Director, Tharuni.

Tharuni.Org Executive Director, Dr. Mamatha Raghuveer is appointed as one of the Members, of  State Commission for Protection of Child Rights,for a term of three years by the Government of Andhra Pradesh., to serve and protect the distressed and needy children.

65th Republic Day celebrations at Tharuni Gurukul on 26th January 2014

Tharuni Gurukul and Branch Library, Nagarjuna colony ,Champapet,Hyderabad, jointly celebrated the 65th Republic Day in the Library premises.The Indian National Flag was hoisted by the President of Nagarjuna Colony Welfare Association ,Karunakar Reddy. School Children from different schools, youth, Readers, People in the vicinity participated the ceremony.Children sang patriotic songs.Youth and Readers spoke about the historical importance of the  Republic Day and the change they want in the present political scenario.Refreshments were distributed at the end of the event.Dr. Hemalatha, Gurukul Coordinator stated about the Tharuni's campaign to save the Girl Child.and also thanked the participants in the event. 

Tharuni 'No Girl-No World' Campaign-Bikethon by Bikernis and Wanderers at Hyderabad-on 26th January 2014

Tharuni on the occasion of National Girl Child Day on 24th ,organized a Bike Rally on 26th January 2014,to save the Girl child, in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The Bikernis of Hyderabad, an all women Bike Riding Club and 'Wanderers-Bulleteers'participated enthusiastically for the social cause. More than seventy five Bike Riders started the' Bikethon' from the James Street Railway Station, Secunderabad, carrying dark  pink Flags, and Scarfs around their  necks, were  led by Tharuni Director Dr. Mamatha Raghuveer and her Team , reached Tharuni Office, at Nagarjuna colony, Champapet, Sagar Road in three hours.They could sensitize the People and vibrate the areas with their Bikes and colourful attire and slogans and placards, to save the Girl child from womb to tomb.They raised the slogan 'No girl- No world'
Dr. Mamatha, Tharuni Director, while quoting the 2011 census, pointed out that there is 18 percent decline of girl child sex ratio in the State of Andhra Pradesh. She reiterated that there is every chance of sociological imbalances leading to more atrocities and abuse against women. She requested every person in the society to work for this noble cause of protecting the girl child .and say 'no' to sex determination tests. She expressed her gratitude to the Bikers both Men and Women having spared their valuable time and energy for participating in this memorable event.She also thanked the Media Channels, both Press and T.V., for the wide coverage they have given for the event.
