Andhra Pradesh State women's Commission inaugurated 'International Day to stop violence against women from 25th November at Indira Priya Darshini Hall, Nampalli, Hyderabad from 10 A.M.to 2 P.M. Many reputed Non Governmental Organisations are taking part in the Events till 10th December. in this 'Women's safety fortnight.' initiated by U.N.It will be concluded on 'International Human Rights Day'.
Tharuni and 'ASMITA' collaborated with the Commission on 27th November to highlight the issue on Child Marriages Act 2006 and Compulsory Registration of Marriages Act of 2002.Video films were displayed on the issue. Smt anuradha, I.P.S and Smt Neelam Sahani I.A.S. and Smt Tripurana Venkatratnam Chair Person of the Commission spoke on the social evil of Child marriages, and the importance of registration of marriages.
Tharuni displayed 'Mulla Bandham' short film and Puppet show video.Dr. Mamatha spoke on the importance of prohibiting Child marriages which hinder the progress of the Country at large.
Tharuni coordinators Ailesh and Bhagya Lakshmi distributed the Acts in Telugu to all the participants.
