Tharuni in collaboration with British Deputy High Commission Hyderabad celebrated Universal Child Rights Day. The students of 10 Schools of the city of Hyderabad participated in the 'Walkathon' with the concept against child sexual abuse & online safety.
Flagging of the Walkathon was graced by Sri Mahender Reddy IPS; DGP, Telangana and Sri Andrew Fleming , Dy. High Commissioner , BDHC, Hyderabad.More than 1200 students, Teachers, walked from Jalavihar to Sanjeevaiah Park via Necklace Road at 9 A.M.
A Student Cultural Extravaganza MELA took place at the green and serene premises of Sanjeevaiah Park, from 10 A.M to 2 P.M.

Chiranjeevulu, IAS; Metropolitan Commissioner , HMDA; Smt Viziendra Boyi, IAS; Director , WCD; participated in the celebrations along with Sri Sony Kutty George , Child Protection Officer, UNICEF; and Smt Sudha Murali, Retd Child Protection Specialist, UNICEF.
More than 1200 Students from the City Schools presented different cultural programs, enthusiastically, on child related problems on safety, education, trafficking, Gender and so on. The best performers were awarded. Principals of the Schools were given certificates for their support to the Safe child hood Project.
