Tharuni as a Nodal Agency in the State of Telangana has organised 'Induction Training Programme' on 18th & 19th January 2017 at the Forest Academy, Hyderabad, for the Project 'Girls Alliance Advocacy', supported by Terre Des Hommes, & Defence for Children ECPAT Netherlands. The Three NGO participants are Sramika Vikasa Kendram,(SVK) from Wanaparthy of old Mahbubnagar District, SCOPE-RD from Kothagudem,and Tharuni from Warangal District.The Staff and Directors of the three NGOs,along with the State Project Staff have participated in the Programme.
Thang Perumal Ponpandi, Programme Manager,Child Trafficking and Migration, Asia,and Ezehkiel from India Programme Office were Guests of Honour.Dr. Mamatha Raghuveer, Founder Tharuni, organised the Training Programme.
The Trainers were were enlightened on Theory of Change,the present scenario,Situation Analysis of Child Rights, were explained in the introductory session.Dr. Mamatha presented the legal scenario of Child Rights and the different laws, enacted in India, in a detailed manner.
The Second day was filled with group activities, quiz on laws and action plays, to train the participants , to react against any injustice done to the children. They were also trained on the main components of the GAA Project . They also shared their success stories from their districts.Brochures in Telugu and law books ,were released by Sri Thangam, and distributed to the participants.The Programme made an enlightening kick start to the action plan of GAA.
